The JUNIORS

How did you get the idea for "The Juniors"?

 

The Juniors started as a joke. Honestly. My son and I were watching the movie "The Goonies" during the summer he'd graduated sixth grade and he said "You should write a short story about me and my friends having some wild adventure like that." I thought it was a good idea, so I got started and wrote a 40 page short story. The whole idea of the Georgia vacation was actually true. My son and his best friend - the girl I got the idea of Marion from - actually went to a cabin in the Georgia mountains with my wife and I (oops did i give away some of the story?).
The rest, as they say - is history. The story grew because everytime i read it to my wife and son, they kept telling me to add more. Once my son's friends and teachers read it, I knew I had to keep the story going, so it went from a 40 page short story to the paperback you hopefully now are an owner of.
